Hello! My name is Amanda I am a Swedish-Ugandan oil painter from Amanda Amour ltd. My gallery is a collection of vibrant fine art paintings blending realism and fantasy inspired by nature, culture, and faith.
Growing up in Sweden I was fascinated with the serene landscape, mountains, lakes and people around me. I discovered the beautiful scenarios I could create in the world of art and began to experiment with drawing and painting.
During my school years in London, I tried various mediums while figuring out my style and interests. Ultimately, after years of stepping away from art, I felt a burden and a divine calling to return when I instantly discovered a love for oil painting that quickly became central to my craft. I began to create colourful paintings with surrealism and a touch of impressionism and other styles. This period allowed me to play around with depth of field and contrasts of lighting, to refine my body of work in a unique way.
My Ugandan heritage plays a vital role I my work, allowing me to celebrate my African roots through bold compositions that feature powerful depictions of women of colour. Overall, I want my art to have a full spectrum of colour, grace and diversity. I equally incorporate faith as a profound source of inspiration for my art including recreations of biblical themes. Each painting carries an essence of spirituality within it from the original idea to the creative process.
